Dawn Mee RGN OHND BSc (Hons)
Dawn has fifteen years experience in Occupational Health,
across a variety of industry sectors including manufacturing, utilities and the public sector. She has a BSc (Hons) degree
in Nursing, a Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing, a NEBOSH Certificate, plus City & Guilds Certificates in Teaching and
Counselling.
Dawn’s extensive qualifications, skills and experience enable her to develop an occupational health services
within organisations which meet the requirements of health and safety, disability and employment legislation - in addition to
having a positive impact on productivity and employee well being.
Nicola Durkin RGN OHND BSc (Hons)
With over a decade of post-qualification Occupational
Health & Safety experience, Nicola is a key part of our OH management team, as well as being a highly skilled hands-on
practitioner. Her qualifications include a first class degree in Health Studies, a Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing, a
NEBOSH Certificate and numerous professional updates.
Nicola has worked within a wide range of
organisations and has a broad range of skills, such as policy development and implementation; sickness absence management;
workstation assessments and health surveillance - including qualifications and experience in the implementation of the new HAVS
and noise regulations.
Mandisa Sonti
An established occupational health practitioner with experience in
delivering an occupational health service across a variety of commercial and industrial organisations.
Mandisa holds a diploma in occupational health nursing and continues to undertake professional development in line with the NMC’s
requirements for professional practice.
With experience in delivering a range of occupational health
provision, Mandisa’s skills include fitness for work health assessments, health surveillance, sickness absence management and
health promotion.
Mandisa is an integral member of our Nottingham based occupational health team.
She endorses, and is committed to COPE’s philosophy that working in genuine partnership with customers will maximise the
productivity and health of the customer’s workforce.
Dr. Brian Platts TD MB ChB DIH MRCGP FFOM
Brian has over 25 years experience in
Occupational Medicine. He has worked in the past as an Occupational Physician for British Steel, British Gas and for the HSE
and the NHS. As well as his part time work with COPE, Brian also still works as a part-time NHS Consultant Occupational
Physician in Nottingham and for other companies in the East Midlands. Brian also chairs and organises an audit group for
Occupational Physicians in the East Midlands and is involved in the organisation of continuing medical education for
Occupational Physicians through Trent Occupational Medicine.
Brian’s work with COPE involves input on OH policies and
procedures, overseeing and audit of the work of COPE’s other sessional Occupational Physicians and some clinical work at the
Beeston HQ and elsewhere in Nottinghamshire for COPE’s clients.
Emma Wagstaff
Emma has been a qualified registered general nurse for three years.
She was trained at the Nottingham University Hospitals, and had her first post within the cardiothoracic directorate at
Nottingham City Hospital. Emma then worked as an angiography nurse specialist in the cardiac catheter laboratory at the Trent
Cardiac Centre.
This is her first post in occupational health and she aims to provide a therapeutic
service with clients to promote health and well-being in the workplace.
