Our approach to Manual Handling Train the Trainer

Our approach complies with the latest HSE research into effective Manual Handling Training:

  • To develop an awareness of the structure and use of upper limbs, backs and bodies during Manual Handling activities.
  • Apply the idea of BELT (Body/Behaviour, Environment, Load, Task) to identifying and reducing risk related to these in the workplace.
  • To develop the skills and knowledge to enable delegates to teach other staff the objectives of the short course.
  • Hosting practical sessions in the actual workplace to instruct operators on how the theory applies to their everyday work tasks.

We will help delegates to use the information packs to keep their knowledge current and answer any questions that their delegates may have. In addition we will help them with the practicalities of setting up and running a course, as well as the techniques for presentation.

On the 2nd day each delegate will present a section of the course that they have prepared. We will certify Trainers as competent to use the Back in Shape materials.

This 2nd date can be set for a few weeks after the initial training, allowing candidates time to study and practice the materials. Keep in mind that any additional assessment sessions at different venues or additional assessment dates will incur additional charges. The qualification is valid for 3 years from the date of certification.

Why Train Your Trainers?

Many Organisations have internal Trainers that provide employee training on various topics.  Manual Handling Training can be added to this scope of training, reducing the overhead costs of providing training on an ongoing basis. Increased understanding of Manual handling risks can also have additional benefits, such as performing Manual Handling Audits.
